Adding analog Vu meter to amplifier?

I have an old , rather large, analog meter from a Hewlitt-Packard Distortion analyzer that I would like to use for an output indicator on a 100 watt tube amp. I have read that there are simple circuits such as: using an op-amp to drive the meter with only a few resistors and power to the op-amp, but I am having trouble locating a schematic for it. I believe it should be very simple. All I want to see is the output of the audio signal as it passes through the pre-amp section of the amp. Any ideas?
