Does SMPS fail if Phase (or Line) and neutral are reversed.??

SMPS of my system failed quite a few times over the last few weeks. ( i had purchased the new system only few weeks back). The person who came to service it said that the SMPS is failing because the power supply (line and neutral) are reversed.. I had checked through few of the Schematics of SMPS but i couldn’t find any reason why this could be true. So can anyone tell me, if it will fail, when the Line and Neutral are reversed.?

I think there is another reason for failure , the most failure point for power system is the heat , try to monitor the temperature of the SMPS when it’s on and check the load .
