How do I read a Wire Schematics & a Runs List?

Can someone explain this to me. I have a job interview in 2 days and i have experience in the past on all the other requirements but these 2 i never had to work before so I’m not to familiar with them. Are they easy to learn something that can get picked up easy? I know it depends on the person i do have years of experience in Electronics mostly working from blueprints though. Can someone just give me the basics & definitions of a Wire Schematics & Runs List thanks….

A Wire Schematic shows how electrical components connect together without regard to their physical placement. I don’t know what aspect of it they want you to know, but you can read the wikipedia page for “Circuit Diagram” for a good list of the symbols used. Knowing how they interact and calculating the characteristics of a circuit that uses all those symbols takes some calculus, linear algebra, and 3 to 4 electrical engineering courses. If the diagram is just constant voltage sources, resistors, capacitors, and inductors you can learn it in about one semester’s worth of work.

Maybe they just want you to know what the symbols mean, you can memorize them in a day or two. If they want you to figure the characteristics of a circuit, you can learn Ohm’s law, Kirchoff’s Voltage Law, and Kirchoff’s Current Law. They show you how linear components (resistors, capacitors, inductors, power supplies) work together. Though don’t hold your breath on capacitors and inductors unless you know calculus. It will take a couple of weeks of constant study and practice to become reliable with those rules.

No idea what a runs list is.
