How do I transition to a computer job while I’m getting my degree?

Ok here is the scenario. I am a Wind Turbine Technician. Iit is mainly electrical troubleshooting and mechanical, Schematics, interfacing software, downloading software, bachman modules. The IT related stuff is I work with computers, some troubleshooting software for the turbines PLC’s, fiber optics, Ntron network switches and that’s about it. Its not really computer troubleshooting its just fixing the problem and interacting with the turbine, but some computer and network usage. I am getting my basics in college out of the way and will persue a Computer Information and Systems Management degree at McMurry university. What do I need to do to transition and gain experience while I’m getting my degree and working and after i graduate?

Try to volunteer your skills as you learn them. This will give you experience as well.
BTW,computer troubleshooting and systems degree are not related at all, you will realize this. anyway,good luck
