Is it possible to have a guitar with two input jacks?

I want to make my strat so I can plug into one amp through one input and another amp through a secondary input jack on the guitar. I also want to have pots to control amp volume independently from each other. is this possible and does anyone have a schematic for it?

Hello there,

There is probably a simpler way to accomplish this than what you propose. The volume pot on the guitar controls only the volume of the output leaving the guitar. It does not control the volume of the amp. You will still have to use the amp volume pot in the system you propose.

Why not put a signal splitter in your loop after the signal leaves the guitar. You can use an A/B box if all you want to do is use either one or the other of 2 amps. If you want to use both at the same time, put a true splitter in the line. If you want more volume control than what you get from the amp’s controls, use a volume pedal. That looks like a wah pedal, but all it does is control volume. You could put a volume pedal in each line after the split or after the A/B box. I would suggest putting a signal booster, like an overdrive pedal in front of whichever you use to split the signal. Splitting the signal is going to weaken your sound. So you need one of the pedals that boosts the signal (adds gain) to get your split signal back up to playing levels. That is a much simpler layout and you do not need to rewire your guitar. You can use that layout with any guitar you have.
