Engineering Firm Internship?

I am interested in EE, and I visited an engineering firm today, and they basically did all the CADing and Schematics for building, so what I am wondering is, are their firms that work on actual electronics? What are good search terms for these types of firms? For example, a building EE would be “Electrical consultant”

EEs work in a variety of fields (pun intended). try an arch firm, hvac, computer co, etc. You can find these gigs in chemical plants, etc.
